Which hardware works with Tezga

Tezga is an online fiscal cash register: it runs in the browser, installs nothing and needs no dedicated device. A computer, tablet or phone with a recent browser is enough. A printer and a barcode scanner are optional, and you choose them by standard, not by brand: the printer must be 80 mm ESC/POS, and the scanner must work in keyboard mode.

That is why this page exists: to show, before you buy, what is needed, how it connects and in which browser it works.

What "verified" means

No model on this list has passed our verification yet. The list is compiled by the standard Tezga uses for printing and barcode reading, and by what the local market offers. It is only fair to say so here, because the difference between "meets the standard" and "we tried it" is your money.

Thermal receipt printers

All the models listed are 80 mm and speak ESC/POS, which is all Tezga needs: in the app you just choose the "Thermal" format, with no other setting. Bluetooth models are the first choice for a tablet or phone, network models for a shop with several registers.

Barcode scanners

Tezga does not care which scanner you use, as long as it works in keyboard (HID) mode: such a scanner types the barcode into the search field and sends Enter, and the register finds the item by its barcode and adds it to the receipt. It works even when the item is not among those shown. With no scanner, a phone or tablet can scan with the camera.

Tablets

Tezga is a web app: a tablet installs nothing, it opens the address and signs in. We recommend a screen of 10 inches or larger, because on a smaller one the cart and the keyboard share too little space.

A phone is a backup register and a field register: it is enough for issuing receipts, sending them to customers and reviewing turnover. For a full day at the counter a tablet or computer is better.

Before you buy

  • Tezga runs in the browser and installs nothing. Any device with a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari browser and an internet connection is enough.
  • Computer (Windows or macOS): install the manufacturer's driver, the printer appears in the system and is chosen in the print dialog.
  • Android tablet and phone: install the manufacturer's print service or the RawBT app, which prints over Bluetooth, the network and a USB OTG cable.
  • iPhone and iPad print only to AirPrint printers (rarer and more expensive), so for a tablet register we recommend Android.
  • The fiscal receipt layout is 80 mm. Narrower 58 mm paper changes the receipt's look and is therefore not supported.
  • Prices are approximate (July 2026) and change, so check the current offer with sellers.
